my friend and i have booked a holiday to spain for 2 weeks, she has pulled out at the last minute and now i have nobody to go on holiday with. my other friend might be able to come on holiday with me but i would need to change the names on the tickets. can anyone tell me how much this costs and how to do it??How to change names on a plane ticket?
I don't take it you've thought of calling the airline? How to change names on a plane ticket?
you have to call the airline. They can change the name on the ticket, and will let you know if there is a charge involved.
You should call your airline or travel agent.
You don't state the airline or when you are travelling, so it will be difficult for anyone to answer your question. From experience, I know that airlines are reluctant to completely change names on tickets, as they have been caught out by people fraudulently selling tickets at higher prices than purchased. Saying that my best advice, would be to try and go into your booking and see if there is an option to do what you want, if not, you should call the airline directly.
i believe you have to call the airport.
Most airlines will not change the passenger name once the ticket has been issued unless you've bought a fully refundable ticket. The fully refundable tickets are extremely expensive and it's not likely that you purchased one unless you specifically asked for that type of ticket (either on the phone or on the airline website). Your first friend would have to cancel her ticket; she would recieve a credit for the value of the ticket minus any change fees (could be as high as $250 US depending on the airline); the credit would be only usable on the original airline and usually expires in one year. Your second friend would then have to book a whole new ticket in her name. Normally the person who cancels the ticket is the only one who can use the credit; so your first friend could not use the credit to buy your second friend's ticket.
