How to change name on water bills?

I just took over a flat contract and the water bills are still on the ex-tenant's name. How can I change it to my name? I've never paid bills before so I really don't know how to do that. My supplier is Thames Water. Thanks for your help.

you need to call the water company and let them know that you now have the flat. They will have to come and make a final reading of the meter for a bill to be sent to the first tenant and then that will be the first reading for your bills. Do it quickly though since the other tenant may not have remembered to get a final bill for them. Also if you don't then when the bill comes they may try to make you pay for whatever that tenant should have paid and didn't.How to change name on water bills?
Just notify the water company, they may ask to have the landlord make the change though because their name is kept with the utilities companies as the property owner and they can make those changes by default.
