How can I change the names of the columns in an excel spreadsheet?

I.E. The columns are named alphabetically (A, B, C, etc...) How could I change, for instance, ';A'; to ';Hours';?How can I change the names of the columns in an excel spreadsheet?
This can be done programatically -but it is a HASSLE -don't even try.

To give the appearance of such a change, however, use the top row of cells for your column labels, Hours, Days, Name, Address ...etc. and then HIDE the display of column labels (the A, B,C ..etc.). The location varies from one Excel version to another, but try Tools-Options and uncheck Row and Column headers.

Now change the background color of the cells with your column labels to set them off from the rest of the sheet. You can then protect these cells, so people can't enter, delete them, etc.

And there you go!How can I change the names of the columns in an excel spreadsheet?
cant, you just need to put ';hours'; in a1
u can't change the name of the column, u have to type in them.
not possible.

Of course you can name the columns anything you want by typing in the first row, underneath the existing letters A, B, C, etc.
