How do people change their first and last names?

like an alias? I'm curious as to how people with warrants get away with changing their names and not getting caught? They should do a show on it.How do people change their first and last names?
This is just a typical criminal tactic that is used. Yes, if a warrent is out for a certain name, it makes it harder, but eventually they get caught up in another charge.

I worked 5 years for a Sheriff's Department in Ohio. Standard procedure there was when a person was arrested and booked, we ran the fingerprints for alias's ( called A.K.A. - Also Known As). It ran overnight and when I would come in the next morning, I would have a rap sheet come back with 25 or 30 AKA's complete with made up and phony Socials for each name.

Any warrents issued under any of the AKA's were then applied and put under the correct (legal) name of the perp along with more charges of evading and assuming identities.

So yes, it might take a bit, but they DO get caught. We called it job security.

Best of luck and I hope this is useful to you
