Should the political parties change their names?

How about instead of Democrats and Republicans we change it to the Capitalists and Socialists? Those who believe in free market capitalism can be called Capitalists and those who believe in wealth redistribution and the government running everything can be called Socialists.

Wouldn't that make more sense?Should the political parties change their names?
They should unite under one name and call themselves Shills.Should the political parties change their names?
How about Dumb and Dumber? I think that's more accurate.
How about you learn the Definition of socialism before you label someone that
Well, seeing how the republican party cares more for corporations than actual capitalism, I would say the republicans should be called the corporate party and the democrats the socialist party (that one you got right).
I was thinking more Goldman Sachs Party and Big Oil Party.
it would be more truthful. If the nasty anti-Capitalists would be truthful and run under the party that describes them, maybe some of these stupid Democrats would wake up and realize their party was captured.
You obviously don't know what socialism is. Your interpretation is wrong.
Wrong.

The Republicans are not free-market capitalists anymore. Haven't been for a very long time.

(That would be the libertarians.)

And the current trend in the Democratic party is not really socialism, but fascism, because this administration supports the governmental takeover of the private sector for the purpose of setting up a 'planned economy.' That is FASCISM, not socialism.

(I know some people will disagree with that sentiment -- to them I say: look it up, I dare you).

If I were to rename the 2 parties, I think they should BOTH change their name to ';THE GLOBALIST PARTY'; because that's who runs both parties. Globalists.

Job-outsourcing, free-trade-supporting, warmongering, counterfeiting, manipulative, lying, liberty-hating, Constitution-trashing control-freak *globalists*.

The 2 parties have been reduced to simply 2 SLIGHTLY different flavors of hardcore big government fascism.

Both flavors come with a slightly Orwellian aftertaste.
Yes to the Rainbow Party for the Democrats and for the Republicans the Charlatan Party thanks to Glenn Beck Theirs the Tea Party so a 3rd Party Exists in America.
No, just add ';, Inc.'; after (both) the current party names.
What difference would that make really,if its still the same crop of people wanting power for the wrong reasons?
There shouldn't be affiliation to any political party at all. Just individuals claiming what they see as a fit solution, and telling you. Everything would be much more transparent. There wouldn't be a party to influence the candidate, nor just supply a mechanism to have preconceived notions of what they support.

So, no. Don't bother renaming them, just abolish parties. The name doesn't really matter anyway, there is still the individual. At least, in my system of no parties, first, it acknowledges the fact that the individual can think different from their party, and secondly, it empowers the individual choice. With no preconceived notions of what they think, the candidate is forced to tell you his opinion.
