How do i change pokemon names in heart gold and how do i use my pal pad?

I need to change some names of pokemon i got from trade because there in japanese or something and also i cant figure out how to work my pal padi have a ton of friends in it but i can never tell if thier on or not.How do i change pokemon names in heart gold and how do i use my pal pad?

For the Pal Pad, all you have to do is enter a name and a code. If your friend's character name is [insert character name], and you put a different name on the Pal Pad, it doesn't make a difference because you've got the Friend code anyways. You can't tell if they're online or not, so you'll have to go the old-fashioned way and e-mail or message your friends.



And, like the previous answerer has stated, you cannot change the name of traded Pokemon unless you have a Save-editing resource like PokeSav. You'll have to consult the trader to change the name of the Pokemon.
